Are your stained and crooked teeth ruining your smile? Don’t worry! At Metro Dental, we offer porcelain veneers which will restore your smile, tooth structure and facial esthetics.
What are Veneers?
Veneers are very thin shells made of porcelain which are used for restoring the structure and aesthetics of grossly damaged teeth. These veneers are attached to the front surfaces of cosmetically important teeth that become visible when you smile or speak.
Who can Benefit from Veneers?
Dr. Lynn recommends porcelain veneers for the treatment of following cosmetic and restorative dental problems:
Permanently Stained Teeth – some teeth stains cannot be removed through professional whitening. Dr. Lynn will restore the smile of these teeth by attaching veneers over them.
Crooked or Chipped Teeth – veneers can also be used to restore the shape and structure of teeth which can become damaged either due to cavities or trauma.
Excessive Teeth Gaps – gaps between teeth, or a diastema, not only affects facial esthetics but also creates difficulties in speech and eating. The ideal option for the treatment of such cases with braces or Invisalign aligners. However, in cases someone cannot afford orthodontic treatment, then the alternative solution is to restore facial esthetics with porcelain veneers.
Complete Smile Makeover – if you’re not satisfied with your facial esthetics, then Dr. Lynn will give you a complete smile makeover with porcelain veneers and other cosmetic restorations.
How are Veneers Prepared at Metro Dental?
Enjoying a beautiful smile porcelain veneers is very simple, and is usually completed within 2-3 visits:
Consultation – during your first visit, Dr. Lynn will carefully examine your teeth to determine whether you are a suitable candidate for getting veneers. She will also prepare a treatment plan which will be fully customized according to your dental needs.
Tooth Preparation – in the next appointment, Dr. Lynn will remove a very thin layer of the front surface of the damaged teeth to create room for the attachment of the veneers. Next, Dr. Lynn will make impressions of your teeth. She will also record the shade and color of the adjacent teeth. This information will then be sent to the dental laboratory for the fabrication of your veneers.
Attaching your Veneers – on your final visit, Dr. Lynn will try the veneers without attaching them. One you and Dr. Lynn are happy with fit and aesthetics, the veneers will be permanently attached to your teeth with adhesive resin cement.
